1. Licensed, insured, legal professional labor is, like everything else these days, expensive. 2. Simpson is worth it. Great honest professionals who stand by their work and communicate with you every step of the way (something that regardless of price is very hard to find these days). I'm in the process of restoring an old family home in the MS Delta and can do pretty much everything professionally except the plumbing and electrical. I have and will continue to use Simpson for those areas and no one else.
